Empowering Louisiana’s Medicare beneficiaries to prevent, detect, and report healthcare fraud, errors, and abuse.

Medicare fraud is a problem that affects all Americans. Medicare funds that could be used to improve healthcare services for Medicare beneficiaries are lost to fraud and waste. In addition, it affects everyone who pays taxes because billions of tax dollars are being wasted each year. However, without some education on Medicare billing and fraud prevention, most seniors will not notice incorrect charges, and will not know where to report any problems.

Louisiana SMP depends on the involvement of beneficiaries, volunteers, and community organizations to strengthen our fight against healthcare fraud.
